mardi, juin 27, 2006
Whilst biotechnology, nanotechnology, robotics and gadget science become dependent upon each other, we're going to see a trend merging between the East, and West from Lifestyle to serious applications that will create not only a blast and sets a generation factor {G-Spot!} between then and now, but also spur innovations from all industry sectors from defense, to education to opensource.
SelkBag
The Selk'nam were nomadic people and survived by hunting. They dressed sparingly, a remarkable feat given the cold climate of Patagonia. The Selk'nam avoided contact with Western colonizers. Westerners killed most of the local animals which were the food source for the Selk'nam and used a great part of the land of Tierra del Fuego to establish large estancias. A tribute to the Selk'nam, was how the SelkBag were created.
Imagine being able to move everywhere in Winter without getting cold, and if you happen to fall asleep {since Winter has a high probability of influencing you in your sleep pattern}, you can rest assure you are kept warm, and safe. We need more ingenious ideas for the 21st century, and SelkBag is one of them! Hurry and place your Christmas order for your favourite backpacker this year!
Brickadoo
If you've played Lego as a child, you might enjoy Brickadoo as an adult. With the focus at developing your design and creative skills, Brickadoo
initiatiates you with enough mortar and raw materials to build your own minimalist designer home and even go as far as building your own eighty-eight storey magnum tower in dreamland. Designed in the Netherlands, Brickadoo comes with enough raw materials to build your own city. If you've played Simcity before, you're likely to get dirty playing with Brickadoo, and might even turn your designs into a profit making venture! A first hand at masonry, Brickadoo is a hands-on experience without getting stuck in cement, and overalls.
Capsters
The issue about the Hijaab {Muslim veil} has become a fashion statement, and designers worldwide are cashing on this phenomena. At least for some Haute Couture designers in their Seasons, sportswear Nike has teamed up with Capsters to design
socio-cultural ware made from comfy fabrics to match activities from aerobics, skate and tennis. Created by young Dutch designer Cindy van den Bremen, Capsters is definately going somewhere after being refused concept with branded manufacturers. Nike, on the other hand believed with social entrepreneurship and product development, Capsters will indeed capture the Muslim market worldwide.
